Benefits of Helicopter Aerial Application

Precision in the Air. Protection on the Ground.
When timing matters and every acre counts, helicopter aerial application gives growers a faster, smarter way to protect their crops.
With unmatched maneuverability, precision coverage, and the ability to operate where ground rigs cannot or it is to wet.
Iron Horse Aviation delivers dependable crop protection when your fields need it most. From wet conditions to tight application windows, our helicopter services help maximize crop health, protect yield potential, and keep your operation moving. This level of precision allows us to maximize application effectiveness while protecting crop health and yield potential. Don’t trust your fields to just anyone. Choose aerial application done with accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism.
Fast. Accurate. Field-ready.
Here at Iron Horse Aviation we treat every field as if it were our own, while still focusing on safety.
Our owner is a veteran and comes from a century farm, who continues to farm today as a 5th generation farmer. He leads this company and knows what your fields require!

Our Trucks are fitted with large 3K gallon tanks for product and 1K for Jet A with 2" fittings with flow meters for loading. These large trucks keeps us in the fields longer with less down time to refit.
Hot Batching is our preferred method but we have the capability of mixing product on our trucks in the field if needed.

Aerial crop dusting offers a significant advantage over traditional ground sprayers, efficiently covering over 150-200 acres per hour. This method not only speeds up the application process but also protects valuable crops damage when you need it fast. Experience the benefits of aerial spraying for enhanced productivity and crop health.

Our pilots combine exceptional aircraft control, advanced helicopter maneuverability, and state-of-the-art agricultural GPS technology to deliver precise, high-quality spray applications across all types of terrain. By flying nap-of-the-earth profiles, we maintain an optimal average spray height of approximately 15 feet above the crop canopy, helping ensure accurate product placement, superior coverage, and reduced drift.

Importance of Trimming your Fields!
Helicopters have a great advantage over fixed wing aircraft given the lower airspeeds flown. We fly an average of 80-90 Knots, when fixed wing aircraft are flying at 150 Knots.
We all have to miss the same obstacles, but helicopters need less time to pull up in obstacle and terrain avoidance which allows proper application height in more of your fields. With the helicopters maneuverability also allows us to trim your fields and cover your crops appropriately while maintaining safety.
